Dr. Xiang Bai is a Professor in School of Electronic Information and Communications and Vice Director of National Anti-counterfeit Engineering Research Center at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). His research interests include Object Recognition, Shape Analysis, Scene Text Recognition and Intelligent Systems. From January 2006 to May 2007, he was with the Department of Computer Science and Information, Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. From October 2007 to October 2008, he was with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), as a joint Ph.D. student. He has published more than thirty papers in leading conference or journals in Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition. He was a winner of Microsoft Fellowship 2007 and Excellent Young Scientist Foundation of NSFC 2012. His PhD Thesis was awarded as the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation nomination in 2012.
